While there is only one school in Alabama that offers an accredited OTA (occupational therapy assistant) degree, Wallace State Community College is the perfect destination for someone looking to jumpstart their career. It’s the largest community college in Alabama and serves over 7,000 students each semester. Besides OTA, the school offers 50 other degrees in various fields such as technology, business, and even truck driving. Although the classroom setting is ideal, Wallace State Community College offers online learning, videoconferencing, podcasting, and off-campus centers to help students get their education, even with a hectic schedule. Wallace State students may take advantage of the University Center partnerships and special articulation agreements, including those with Athens State University, the University of Alabama, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Auburn University, and Troy University. Located in Hanceville, AL, Wallace State is less than an hour drive from Birmingham, Decatur, and Huntsville, making commuting easy for most students.
